championships this year will be in three parts.

Sprint championships - Sunday 16th June at Auchenharvie
– arrive poolside at 4:15pm for warm up at

Closing
date for entries 2 weeks before championships.
1. Age as at 31
December
Sprint Championships
2. A sprint
night (50m) will be held earlier in the year to help with the relay
selection for the Scottish and so that swimmers have up to date times
for the West District sprints. LEN points achieved at the sprints
will be brought forward towards the club championships in October.
(Sprints all LEN points.)
8 years and under scored
6,5,4,3,2, and 1, to be same throughout the year,
Relay Championships
3. The relay
night will be held at the beginning of the new session (August) as it
brings all swimmers together.
4. The scoring
at the relay gala will be 6,5,4, 3,2,1 points
regardless of team position.
5. Can only
swim someone up an age group if you haven’t used all your swimmers in
that age group.

6. Coaches
awards (both land and water based) will be determined on performance,
attitude, attendance and effort

7.
8 years and under can choose any 5 events from either
25 Fly, 25 Back, 25 Breast,
25 Free and 100 IM or
50 Fly, 50 Back, 50 Breast, 50
Free and 100 IM
Any swimmer who swam in
previous years championships must swim 50m events.
8. On championship day the 8 years and under, 25m events
will be scored by 6,5,4,3,2,1.points.
All other 8 year and under events will
be scored by LEN points
9. 9 years can
choose any five events from 50, 100m and 200m strokes but one of which
must be a 200m event and a minimum of four different strokes. (not 100
IM)
10. 10 years and
over can choose any 5 events from,
100 and 200 all strokes, 400,
800, 1500 Freestyle and 400IM,
All swimmers will have to swim a minimum of
four different strokes as part of their five swims, one will be a
distance event, and one 200m event (not 100IM)
11. Swimmers can
earn points for their teams in all three rounds of the club
championships but relay round does not count towards individual
champion.
12. Team points
in all three rounds will be scored on a 6,5,4,3,2,1
basis.
13. Times used
will be as per fastest times in the Club Hy-Tek
database at the time of entries, or as agreed by the Head Coach.
14 .Swimmers to choose events at the
club championships not parents.
New swimmers will swim at their ability level, which means they may not
swim at the distances appropriate to their age group (must be discussed
and agreed by Head Coach). If this is the case then these swims will
not score points for the individual swimmer awards only for the team
points. Swimmers don’t need to do all strokes for their age group
but this will jeopardise their chances of gaining points for themselves
on final day of club championships.
15 Masters swimmers to swim any 50m plus
events but only 100m events will be point allocated for yourself.
16 Young Masters should try to stick to events in accordance
with section 9.
17. Swimmers
not turning up are letting their team down.

The
calculation is based on the world record being approved by FINA
If
a performance is not listed in the table, it is to be valued with the
number of points attached to the next time listed. Any further
information on LEN points can be found on the Scottish Swimming web
site.
